SMCC proudly welcomes Gregory Grant, M.D. from Oklahoma City to join their family medicine team this fall. Shawnee Medical Center Clinic impressed Dr. Grant both in the quality of patient care and the convenience of readily available specialists and other services he knew would be important for his patients.
Dr. Grant chose medicine with fond memories of his own pediatrician who listened to both he and his parents, taking an interest in his overall well being and not just the occasional sore throat. "She was very supportive, always wanted me to do well in school and in life and I decided taking care of people was something I wanted to do. I chose family medicine because like seeing the whole family, taking care of kids but also moms and dads and the grandparents who come with them."
Dr. Grant and his wife Jennifer are eager to settle in Shawnee where they will raise three year old Katie and a new baby on the way. The community fondly reminded Dr. Grant of his hometown in Bartlesville and also provided a home close to his wife's family in Oklahoma City. "Shawnee Medical Center Clinic is the perfect opportunity and the small community is a great place to live."
Dr. Grant graduated from Bartlesville High School and graduated from OSU where he received an Honors College Degree and a B.S. in Biochemistry. He received his medical degree from OU, finishing his residency as Co-Chief Resident at OU's department of Family and Preventative Medicine where he received the Maxwell Award for Excellence in Clinical Medicine.
